Dhokra is a traditional form of metal casting practiced for over 4000 years and is believed to date back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Dhokra art is unique because while a majority of metal craftsmen hammer the metal to create crafts, the Dhokras simply employ the lost wax technique. It is a conventional process of making metalware using casting, forging, or shaping and has been implemented in Indian craft for ages.
